Sally Hansen Real Nail Polish Strips
In my last post, Jennifer had asked me about what nail polish I was wearing. Would you believe it’s not your normal nail polish (and there was zero dry time?).
Since I’ve tried Minx nails, which I wasn’t totally impressed with, I was put on to Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects Real Nail Strips by LDiva herself from Divalicious.
Nail art of the day
I just couldn’t resist…it’s the journalist in me:
Stumbled upon these newspaper-print nails, that were literally made using newspaper. The blog where you can find a tutorial on these nails is written in French though…so unless parlez vous Français, I suggest heading over to Google Translate to de-code these tips!

Watercolored nails
At least that’s what I think of when I saw Sabeen’s latest nail art
. Reminds me of a watercolor painting:

Nail art at Valley in Nolita
My cute lil cousin Sabeen just got engaged recently, and for the ceremony she came across Valley, a nail art salon in Nolita that also randomly sells vintage clothes on one end of the store. The nail artist there helped her customize a unique nail design just for her.
First she put two coats of gold glitter polish:
Spotted: Minx nails at Bliss
I went to Bliss 49 yesterday for a manicure, and spotted the receptionist sporting these nails:
She was nice enough to let me take a pic — they do Minx at Bliss too! This design looked REALLY cool. What do you think?

I heart nail art.
I went to a private school in the suburbs of Chicago, and there was a point during 8th grade where I was coming in every single day with a different nail color and DIY design. It was so much fun, and I’d always experiment with odd colors: green with black stripes; white with red polka dots; orange nailbeds and hot pink tips. It eventually caught the teachers’ attention, so they sent out a note home that nail polish is no longer allowed during school hours. That sucked.
So, when I saw my cousin Sabeen’s nails today, it totally conjured up memories of my short stint of nail polish creativity.
