Product Review – TIGI Bed Head’s After-Party

I don’t know about you, but my hair loves to go POOF after I blow dry. It’s so annoying. You can even finally get your style down right and there they are — the frizzies.

I’m not keen on oily serums that can make your hair go flat (and apply too much and you just went from shower fresh to grease ball). Then I was introduced to TIGI Bed Head After-Party.

Quick solution to tame the frizz

So you know how I was complaining about how the humidity and rain has been wreaking (frizzy) havoc on my hair? Just met a lovely hairstylist today, Kerrie Urban, who’s worked with Aveda, with whom of course, I was sharing my frizz woes with. The best quick fix she says? Carry a small travel size hair spray with you to smooth it down.

“It’s the best thing way to smooth our those tiny frizzies,” she said. “So many people turn to oil and silicones and it just ends up making hair too greasy.”

Seriously, I’m so over frizz.

I left this morning for work, and literally 30 seconds later, it starts pouring — I mean POURING — outside. I had an umbrella, but still had to run back home to change my heels and jeans because I was completely drenched.

Though not a drop landed on my hair, I just came back from the bathroom and looked into the mirror to see my excessive, crazy frizz before I saw anything else. Sucks.

Why my hair feels awesome (and healthy) today.

infusium23Infusium 23’s (Frizz)ologie Leave-In Treatment. Admittedly, the intimidating size of this bottle has made it an unused item in my bathroom for too long. It actually looks like it could last a lifetime.

Last night, I decided to break it out and see what it could do. The directions say to leave it in wet or dry hair and just style as usual, but it was a little confusing since the substance is so watery. I just put a lot and combed it through my hair, then braided it and went to bed. In the morning, I washed it out and did a quick blow dry before work.

While I was eating breakfast, I noticed my hair felt extra smooth but not weighed down. I didn’t want to get too excited too quickly, but now as my day is winding down, I still can’t get over how soft and strong my hair feels. I don’t have curly hair, but I could imagine it’s great for curly or frizzy types since it’s specified to treat that. It’s a lot less messy than hair oil, and though I’m a little confused at why it’s so watery (maybe since it’s light enough so the directions don’t mention that it should be washed out?), I’m definitely going to keep it up maybe as a bi-monthly ritual. Can’t hurt, right?
