Inspiration of the Day: Union Square Art
HOW GORGEOUS was it in NYC yesterday?? The city really has its moments, and the first day hinting at spring after days in the bitter cold is one of them. It was also the last official day of Fashion Week, so I could relax a little and took full advantage by trying to keep myself outdoors. I spent a few hours around Union Square and, as always, there were tons of artists and painters displaying their work all over the place…but this bright motif in the middle of the park caught my eye. Well that, and a cute little kid who was admiring and dancing around it at the same time:
Spring, I’m so ready for you.

Inspiration of the Day: Tobias Wong’s art
Tobias Wong was a 35-year-old rising artist based in NYC. Before his untimely death last month (which is a bit open-ended — the examiner ruled it was suicide by hanging, though he was reportedly a chronic sleepwalker which leads people like his partner of six years to believe that it was an “accident”), Wong was just coming off his most successful shows. Some of the common themes in his art were based on questioning consumerism and luxury, but his perspective (sometimes using such common things as a matchbook or mirrors) is what really gets me. Some of his work is below:
