Looking at before and after pictures, Sosa’s (who’s originally from the Dominican Republic) skin does look several shades lighter.
Though a former Cubs employee and close friend of Sosa’s, Rebecca Polihronis, is claiming that he’s simply undergoing a dermatologic rejuvenation process for his skin after years of playing baseball in the sun. “He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson,” she added. “Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of (the photo appearance) is just the lighting.”
Laser treatments like Fraxel can even out your skin tone, but if this is really how light he is now (photo tricks aside), it seems kind of extreme for just a routine laser job!

I think it’s absurd & sad. No routine “laser” procedure will make you waaaaaayyy lighter like that. I think it’s sending a wrong message to people who are darker-skinned. Be happy with yourself & love yourself. So saddening. *smh*

Yeah and he went on to say he just got majorly tanned playing in the sun…yes people get tanned and then they go back to their original skin color which is not 50 shades lighter!! Some cream he has there..
