Summer grillin’
Fact: I miss my friends in Chicago.
Double Fact: I miss them even more when I think about them getting together to eat things like this:

Anyway, so my friend Hamaad loves to grill, and he had a just-because BBQ recently where he took lovely pictures of his creations for moi. OK, probably not for me, but let’s just pretend.
He marinated the chicken with soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, fresh garlic and ginger and then placed it on skewers with green peppers, grape tomatoes and pineapples.

He also prepared the meat for the burger with a borrowed recipe: chopped onions, red chilli powder, tikka masala mixed in with small pieces of pepperjack cheese.
I hope he knows this only means he must do a repeat when I’m in town. Thanks.

Is grilling pineapples a new fad or something?? Everyone is doing it. My family cooks with Shaan masala bbq mix. You can find it at any indian store. It makes people think you know how to cook.

I’m glad you posted about grilling! That’s my favorite thing to do in the summer. Or well, it’s my favorite thing to watch my father as he does the grilling.
So every now and then I like to pretend I’m a fob, and I really love bhutta. Like the desi style corn on the cob where you grill it nearly-black and put lal mirch, lemon, salt, etc.? So amazing.
