Feasting at the Crooked Tree Creperie

Crooked Tree Creperie in the East Village
I’m not sure HOW I’ve always missed this place, considering I’m on this exact street so often for dinner; but I was lucky my friend Mariyam pointed it out as we were looking for a place to have dessert last night (and yes, that’s the blurry top of her head in the picture above; I’m sure she’d want me to point that out).
We sat down and ordered lattes (which we were pleasantly surprised at the generous sized servings), and a nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas.

Nutella Crepe ($5), with strawberries and bananas (extra $2)

Latte, $3
The crepe itself was good, a little tougher, maybe even smaller, but I’d say not as good as my favorite Creperie ones.
Though, Crooked Tree definitely has one thing on my favorite crepe joint — SPACE, and a very cozy dimly-lit, even romantic, ambiance (further confirmed by the many couples that stopped in while my fellow Chicagoan and I indulged in catch-up conversations).
Oh and, it’s cash only, so make sure you make a pit stop to the ATM before sitting down to avoid the fumbling mess you might find yourself in after your chow down!
